About investing

Investing and investment strategies involve risk including the potential loss of principal.  Past performance is not a guarantee of future results.

Equity investments are subject to market fluctuations.  Small-company stocks as compared to large-company stocks entail additional risks, and can have greater price fluctuations.  International and emerging markets may be more volatile and involve additional expenses and special risks, including currency exchanges, political and economic uncertainties. Bonds are exposed to credit and interest rate risk (when rates rise, bond prices generally fall).  The return and principal value of a bond will fluctuate as market conditions change. If sold before maturity, an individual bond may be worth more or less than its original cost.

Mutual Funds & ETFs are sold by prospectus. Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the mutual fund or ETF.  This and other important information is contained in the fund prospectus which can be obtained from your financial adviser and should be read carefully before investing.

Asset allocation & diversification do not ensure a profit or prevent a loss in a declining market. They are methods used to help manage investment risk.

Rebalancing can entail transaction costs and tax consequences that should be considered when determining a rebalancing strategy.

The S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones Industrials indexes are unmanaged groups of securities considered to be representative of various stock markets in general.  Indexes are unmanaged and unavailable for direct investment.  Past performance is not a guarantee of future results.

Our relationship with Geneos Wealth Management

We choose to keep a relationship with a broker dealer because certain resources and investments can only be offered through a broker dealer. We believe our fiduciary duty to our clients is best fulfilled with the most broad array of investments to choose from. Some new clients come to us having purchased investments from a broker dealer representative that we would not be able to help them with if we did not keep a relationship with Geneos or another broker dealer. That being said, the vast majority of our clients do not have a relationship with Geneos Wealth Management. For particular questions or concerns, please contact your financial advisor.

A & I Financial Services and Geneos Wealth Management, Inc. do not provide tax or legal services. Individuals should always consult their own legal or tax advisor regarding their specific situation before acting on any information provided.
